I've been a widow since 2012, and recently I'm wondering if things are safe: things like dating...
I'm not even sure if it's safe to open myself and my heart. I lost my dad in 2012 a month before my husband died, three years later, same time of year, my oldest child died. And three years after that, same time of year on my dad's birthday, I lost my best friend from high school.
Okay, so now I ask, is anyone even brave enough to take me on? Personally, I'm seeing myself as someone pretty decent. Obviously, at my age I don't get out of the bed every morning to dress, take a sip of coffee, then rush off to work anymore. Before I "matured" I was a newspaper reporter and a registered medical assistant. Now I take my time with that coffee, and some days I don't even get dressed.
I think I need to wake up and smell (somebody else's) coffee!
